Baby Oscar's birth {birth photography}

I don't even know where to start with talking about this session; it was such a wonderful experience for me. I had never done any birth photography before but when Liz mentioned it as something she was thinking about, I knew immediately that I would want to do it. For quite some time after Berkeley was born, I was obsessed with reliving the day in my head. I would just go through it, phase by phase, as if trying to cement every detail into my brain. I loved that day so much, and I just needed it to be right there, within reach. (Thankfully I created a written record of it!) So anyway, yes, so very excited and honored about the idea of creating an actual visual memory for someone.

I feel like I sound so vain, but I just love these pictures! Not so much because of anything I did well, but because I love to see untainted emotion, and a birth clearly presents lots of that. Pain, fear, nervousness, anticipation, agony, compassion, elation, exhaustion, falling in love, starting over . . . I love these images.

Finn- One Year

This session was from over a year ago, but I've always meant to post it, and it would just make me feel better if I did :)

It's actually so fun to look at these pictures of bald, just-learning-to-walk Finn, as he now has a full head of white locks and goes everywhere on his own. (He probably also looks different because this session was done right before Finn and Berkeley started their Nanny Share Care together so these were in his pre in-love state :)) Anyway, I have loved watching this guy grow and learn, and am so happy we continue to get to be a part of his world.

Taisja + Brady + Eden

I have this "window seat" that I love to hang out at in my living room, but I was clueless as to how to make it cute and Taisja came to my aid . . . not once, not twice, but three times she made a window cushion for me- sewed it, tufted it, let it take over her dining room. My dogs kept destroying them and then I would sheepishly go back to Taisja and ask if she could "help" me make a new one and I promised I wouldn't let the dogs on this new one . . . or the next new one. Anyway, every time she just smiled and was like "sure! And is there anything else I can help you with?" So she's been so sweet and helpful, to say the least, which is why I was so excited for her to have little Eden, cause I could finally try to repay her just a little bit with some pictures! Well that and cause Eden is a fabulous little baby, and has made fabulous parents out of Taisja and Brady!
